PCI Council renews Avenues' PCI DSS V2 Certification
29th May, 2013 - Mumbai, India
The PCI Council has renewed Avenues' PCI DSS V2 Certification, thereby reconfirming Avenues' position as one of the most secure payment gateways in the world. This certification covers all solutions under the Avenues brand viz. CCAvenue, South Asia's largest payment gateway; ResAvenue, India's leading online hotel reservation system; and EventAvenue, the leading online registration and payment solution for event managers.
Merchants and their customers transact online using Avenues' cutting-edge solutions without worries of identity theft and security breaches. This high level of security ensures minimal risk and high transaction success rates with a superior customer experience.
CCAvenue offers top-of-the-line security features that include registration with VeriSign and implementation of authentication protocols like Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode. CCAvenue F.R.I.S.K, its proprietary security feature, uses a combination of best practices, leading technology and human intelligence to prevent instances of fraud.
In December 2011, Avenues India had become the first Indian company to achieve the stringent PCI DSS V2 certification for its internationally recognized solutions. Compliance with the latest PCI DSS standards signifies a genuine business commitment by Avenues to safeguard and enhance the reputation of its merchants. It is also aimed at protecting the personal information and confidential data of their customers.
PCI DSS 2.0
The PCI Security Standards Council offers robust and comprehensive standards and supporting materials to enhance payment card data security. The keystone is the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), which provides an actionable framework for developing a robust payment card data security process -- including prevention, detection and appropriate reaction to security incidents. PCI DSS 2.0 (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard Version 2.0) is the latest version of the PCI DSS. It incorporates a stronger emphasis on scoping sensitive data and a more risk-based approach for assessing vulnerabilities.
About PCI Security Standards Council
In September 2006, the five leading payment brands formed an independent Council to manage the PCI DSS. American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa International saw the need to secure payment account data in a globally consistent manner. The new council worked to develop a system that would be more accessible and efficient. As a result, the ongoing monitoring and development will benefit more than a billion payment card users.
